All-Star Game

All-Star Game: During the week of July 13th, Cincinnati welcomed the Major League All Star Game and Home Run Derby! Our office was right in the center of all of the hype and LSR was able to enjoy the week’s events.

Donation Days

Each month the LSR Community Service Committee picks a non-profit group in our area and solicits donations from LSR employees. As the Major League Baseball All Star Game came to Cincinnati, LSR employees participated in a silent auction to raise funds for the Reds Community Fund. Each department created masterful baskets and tickets were purchased for the raffle. Ticket sales raised an amazing $2,096.00 for the Reds Community Fund and with the generosity of Lerner, Sampson & Rothfuss, the firm matched what was raised, bringing the total donation to $4,192.00. For those of you who don’t know, the number 4192 just so happens to be the number of hits that lead Red’s player Pete Rose to break Ty Cobb's all-time hits record back in 1985. We can’t make this up!

Our Harvest Cooperative

Lerner, Sampson and Rothfuss once again joined forces with Our Harvest Cooperative where participating employees receive fresh, local produce on a weekly basis. Our Harvest Cooperative is committed to creating family-sustaining jobs in Greater Cincinnati, producing sustainably-grown, local produce and building a food hub to strengthen the local food system and increase access to healthy food from local farmers. Donation Days

Each month the LSR Community Service Committee picks a non-profit group in our area and solicits donations from LSR employees. During the week of April 27th, LSR hosted Casual Days for a Cause to raise money for The American Red Cross –Disaster Relief to provide aid to those affected by the devastating earthquakes that struck Nepal. Together, LSR employees were able to raise $1,410.00 to those affected.

This holiday season, LSR and its employees continue to be a proud supporter of Child Focus by sponsoring 5 children with our annual Child Focus Angel Tree. Onsite Health Screenings

On December 16th, LSR partnered with The Jewish Hospital - Mercy Health Mobile Mammography Unit to provide onsite health screenings for participating employees. The Jewish Hospital- Mercy Health Mobile Mammography Units make screening mammography quick and easy. The self-contained, 38-foot vans are staffed by female radiology technologists who specialize in mammography. During the week of November 24th , LSR hosted casual days for a cause to raise money for the Freestore Foodbank. The Freestore Foodbank is a local organization that annually distributes over 20 million meals to more than 260 non-profit agencies, including community centers, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and various non-profit outreach centers in the 20 counties that they serve. This year, LSR employees were able to successfully raise $1,794.00 to assist with providing meals to those in need in our area. The Award of Excellence is given annually to USFN Member firms who meet rigorous standards which evaluate professional activities, industry volunteerism, and community and charitable involvement by the firm. USFN, founded in 1988, is the nation's oldest and most prestigious trade association of law firms and trustee companies which focus on creditors' rights. The Award of Excellence program was initiated in 1993 to recognize and encourage Member firms to develop and maintain high standards of excellence in service to industry clients and to their community.

YLS Community Service Challenge

The efforts of LSR attorneys and employees continues to be recognized as Lerner Sampson & Rothfuss has been chosen as the YLS Community Service Challenge winner in the firm category! As the winner in this category, LSR was recognized at the YLS Annual Meeting on April 10th with a Certificate of Achievement from the Cincinnati Bar Association, Young Lawyers Section for outstanding dedication and service to the Cincinnati Bar Association and the community at large.

Blessings in a Backpack

On March 18th, LSR attended the USFN Servicing Conference in Ft. Worth, Texas. As a part of this conference, servicers and attorneys volunteered their time for Blessings in a Backpack. Blessings in a Backpack is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization currently feeding over 63,000 children in 583 schools in 45 U.S. states. The program is a hybrid of private sector funding and public partnership carried out in public schools. The children who qualify participate in the federal lunch programs and the backpacks that were filled help to supply food for that child on the weekends.
